Whilst acupuncture is used as part of the physiotherapy toolkit, it can also help the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. Acupuncture modifies the (sympathetic) fight or flight response and releases ‘feel good’ beta endorphins. It also increases the local nutritional blood flow to an area. Acupuncture can also help reduce blood pressure and promotes sleep.
Hypnosis and other relaxation techniques helps you with breathing patterns, reduce sleep disturbance and reduces anxiety.
Margaret can also provide stress relieving massage and massage to help relax muscles.
In addition, Margaret can provide physiotherapy led pilates and will arrange classes either at the practice or at other locations as part of our packages.
